Next up: Valentine's Day

I am over joyed for Valentine's Day this year.

If you haven't noticed, I completely feed in to commercialized holidays. I like the idea, and them forcing you to spend time with your loved ones/friends to celebrate unnecessary spending. To me, it's only for a couple of days out of the year when (almost) everyone's mood is elevated because of all the love in the air.

Cheesey, fine. I can admit to that, but why not celebrate it? It shouldn't be once a year - it should be every day - but because this ONE day was singled out and you get to be surrounded around other sweethearts, just enjoy it. Even if you're single, I'm sure there are people around you who you love. Enjoy that. And if there's no one around you who you love, love yourself especially hard for the day.

Another reason I'm excited for Valentine's Day is because I can't wait to ball my eyes out for The Vow. I purposely try to provoke emotions out of myself so I'll go pay to see movies I know I'll be too scared to watch through open eyes and that are guaranteed to make me cry.  I have convinced J to take me to see this even though he's a regular guy who hates romance movies and this movie is like about 3 other Rachel McAdams movies I've seen before.

Be honest, doesn't an itty bitty teeny tiny part of you kind of want to see this movie?

  4. I'm dying to see this movie!

I'm going with my best friend to see it and cannot wait to sob uncontrollably, and then go home and ask my bf 100 times if he would try to make me fall in love with him again if I was stricken with amnesia.

    Big plans.

  5. Hunni I'm sooo not a girly girl. Anything that makes me cry I try to avoid, LOL. I'm action, comedy, drama, all day long when it comes to movies. I know I'm weird but I can't help it!

Lovely blog, I'm now following. I'm going to follow you on Twitter as well ;-)

  6. This will be my first non-single Valentine's Day in years, and my lady is a hopeless romantic much like myself, so I look forward to doing all sorts of mushy things lol. I'm glad we're not the only ones!

  9. I'm like you; I fall for the commercialization of holidays. I spend for too much money but I do it for my loves, my girls, so it's ok I guess. I started a tradition a few years ago with them by taking them to build- a-bear on valentines day along with dinner, earrings, candy and balloons. All that for them and I get nothing. I WAS single for over three years and this will be my first valentine's day in a relationship since, so we will see how that goes but I will still spoil my girls that day. I may even suggest we go see this movie. I must have been hiding under a rock because I never heard of this movie.
    BTW, I miss you too!!

  12. Yes, I do want to see the vow especially since Rachel mcadams is in it. I have mixed opinions on valentines day. Overall I'd say I like it but there are definitely some elements that I find annoying.

  14. One of the reasons I loved Mr. A so much is because he didn't fall into all of the Valentine's Day stuff. We had talked about it before the "holiday," and we agreed that we wouldn't do anything special for it. He ended up proposing the day before Valentine's Day -- that way, it wasn't actually ON Valentine's Day like so many other people do for their engagements. So February 13th is a special day for me. :)

  18. I am so in love with Valentines Day! We make a huge deal out of it every year! This year is tricky because we have a newborn and have to arrange for care. We are going to see Kevin Hart and New Edition this weekend. Valentine's Day will be spent at home and I will cook a nice dinner and we will enjoy with our baby!! I want to see The Vow so bad but Safe House first!
